Runners, hopefully your training is coming along well and you are feeling better and more confident each time you go out for a run. We will be having our first time trial on Thursday, August 15 at Peakview. Let that be incentive to keep your training up and pushing forward. Remember, no one ever says "I walk cross country."
Rookies and those that lost their shoes: this week you should try to run 10 continuous minutes each day or about a mile and a half. When I say each day I mean 5 of the 7 days.
Everyone else: continue the training you have been on and add to it when you can. If you can catch a ride to Montevideo one day, do a hard mile on the track to see how your training is coming along. Warm up and stretch before then jog a slow 10 minute cool down after. I'd like to hear how you did if you get around to it.
Remember safety rules. Run with someone if you can. Let someone know where you are going and when to expect you back. Run when it's coolest and drink plenty of water.
While at Peakview we will not have access to water and bathrooms so be prepared. I say this now so that you aren't blindsided when we train there.
Happy running everyone.
