I can not stress enough how essential it is that you keep your training up. What you have done this summer to improve your conditioning and endurance has set the ground work for your success this season. If you have yet to train then I ask what are you waiting for and encourage you to run 5 times prior to next Monday.
For new runners: twelve minutes of continuous running per day minimum.
For experienced runners: 20-30 minutes per day. Pick one day to go on a 15 minute run at a hard pace. If you have a course measured out, try to run a hard 2 miles. This run should push you and be run at a much harder pace than the 20 minute runs you have done before.
I'm looking forward to seeing/meeting you at registration or sometime next week. Some of you have contacted me and will miss a day or two next week. That is fine and we will see you when you are done with other obligations.
